Chameleon Pigments Introduce
Chameleon pigments consist of a network of organic polymers that contain
a crystallinephase of what is known as a cholesterol liquid derived from sugar
molecules.Chameleon series pearlescent pigments, also known as angle
-dependentpearlescent pigments, this color-changing pigment includes two
series of iron series chameleons and titanium series chameleons. Through the
control of the production process, the mica substrate is alternately coated with
a variety of different refractive indices. Oxide,the coating thickness of each
oxide is designed, and the light is reflected and refracted by the multi-layer film
to realize the special effect of different colors of the chameleon series
pearlescentpigments at different angles. Chameleon pigments are pearlescent
pigments with advanced optical effects that change color through multiple
refraction and interference of light in the product coating, showing progressive
and flowing colors. Its color changing principle is to absorb the ultraviolet light
source of aspecific wavelength, and the energy of the light source will produce
color changes (to purple,red, yellow, sky blue),and the color changes will be
different at different angles.
Chameleon pearlescent pigments are widely used in coatings, industrial
coatings, inks,cosmetics, paper, plastics, rubber, ceramics and enamels
and other industries. Color-changing pigments can add fresh power and
personality to products such as chameleon nail polish, chameleon eye shadow,
cosmetic packaging; fishing rods and tackle, skis, golf clubs, helmets, shoes
and other sports equipment. The use of chameleon pearlescent pigments is
relatively simple, just need to mix the chameleon pigments into solvent-based
or water-based products. When using chameleon pigments in dark colors,
especially on black surfaces, it is possible to obtain a unique color effect that
changes color depending on the viewing angle. In contrast, on a white or
off-white background, there is only a very subtle color-changing flickering
effect because the background reflects most of the incoming light.
